Dutch company (Framer B.V., Amsterdam) offering an AI-assisted design-to-website tool that grew out of an interface-prototyping app.

Framer began in 2014 as a code-and-canvas interface design/prototyping tool, before evolving into a “design to published website” product with AI site-generation. Framer B.V. is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam.

Today’s product lets users design visually and publish as a live, responsive website with CMS, animations, and hosting, but its editor still centers on the same freeform, layer-based canvas.

Because Framer’s focus has shifted toward website building, it sits at the intersection of design tooling and site building, while remaining an Amsterdam-headquartered company.
