Qwant is a consumer web search engine headquartered in Paris, France, marketed as a privacy-respecting alternative to Google that does not build behavioral advertising profiles.

Qwant was originally backed by French state investment and a publisher partner. In 2023 it was acquired by a French entrepreneur through a Paris-based holding company, and Qwant remains headquartered and operated out of Paris.

In late 2024 Qwant entered a joint venture with Ecosia to jointly build a European-run search index.
